Welcome to Carr’s Wildlife Centre, a gathering place where curiosity, knowledge, and care for the natural world come together.

Carr’s is part of a landscape that many people across Prince Edward Island are working hard to understand, protect, and celebrate. As our Wildlife Centre continues to grow, we hope to build meaningful connections with the Island’s vibrant nature and conservation community.

Organizations such as Island Nature Trust, Nature PEI, the PEI Watershed Alliance, the PEI Wildlife Federation, MacPhail Woods Ecological Forestry Project, the PEI Invasive Species Council, PEI Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, and the Nature Conservancy of Canada all play an important role in protecting the lands and waters that make PEI so special. We are also inspired by educators and storytellers like Kate MacQuarrie of PEI Untamed, along with national organizations including Birds Canada and Parks Canada, whose work helps deepen our understanding of the natural world.

We also recognize that Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island) has been cared for by Mi’kmaq people for thousands of years, and we hope to build respectful relationships with Mi’kmaq communities, knowledge holders, and organizations who continue to share knowledge about the land, waters, wildlife, and traditional ways of living with nature.

At Carr’s, we see the Wildlife Centre and waterfront property as a place where these connections can grow—a place for conversations, workshops, educational events, and shared learning about wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation. By welcoming partners, educators, and community members to gather here, we hope to create opportunities for people to engage more deeply with nature and with each other.

Prince Edward Island’s natural heritage is something we all share. By working alongside the many organizations, Indigenous communities, and individuals dedicated to conservation, Carr’s hopes to be a gathering place where curiosity, knowledge, and care for the natural world come together.
